Around Mont Sainte-Odile
This 9.2 km loop with 360 meters of elevation gain immerses you in the spiritual and forested atmosphere of Mont Sainte-Odile, a major Alsatian pilgrimage site perched above the Alsace plain. The trail starts near the abbey, an iconic and historic site founded in the 7th century.
The route winds through deep forests of fir and beech trees, and in some places follows the mysterious Pagan Wall, a megalithic structure shrouded in legend. Panoramic views of the Bruche Valley and the Alsace plain punctuate the hike, offering spectacular vistas between wooded sections.
Accessible by mountain bike or on foot, this hike is ideal for lovers of nature, spirituality, and heritage. Be sure to wear suitable footwear and bring some water, especially in summer.
